Alternatively titled: Why can't the Sugar Woman let Lapis be Happy
In two separatepolls, I asked everyone which character from Steven Universe I should draw, from a select list. Lapis and Steven tied (originally), so I hosted another. To be honest, when I saw Lapis and Steven in first place, I had the idea of drawing them on top of the ocean tower. In the end, Lapis beat the "both" option. Maybe next time I'll draw Steven. c;
Even though Lapis Lazuli isn't my favorite (come on have you seen Peridot), she's still a precious water angel that I love. She could take me out in seconds, but that's not the point. Getting to draw her was tons of fun. Space, blue/purple/pink color scheme, flowing dress... that's the good stuff. I decided to challenge myself, too, by a) only using textures I create and b) not having the color black anywhere, despite it being in space. I think I did okay. ;v; Loved painting the water and space scenes.

Gosh, that background and the water are just beautiful. The colors you picked for the sky and those clouds are gorgeous. ; w ; I really love how soft it looks and those little stars in it. The ripples in the water Lapis is in are also perfect! I really like how you drew her and her expression as well. You’ve portrayed that “I just want to go home” feeling very well. You also did a really good job on the ruffles of her dress! Those can be a little tricky to draw. o:
